12 Italian Empoli Pink Bon Bon Apothecary Circus top Optic 1960s Genie Art Vase

An impressive piece of Mid-Century glass from the Empoli region in Italy. Good examples of Empoli glass are being snapped up and are becoming more and more difficult to find. This example is hand made from clear and pink glass with an internal vertical ribbed optical effect and topped with a matching Big Top tent lid. The pink also forms a swirl within the glass, as can be seen in several of the images.

From the same makers of the hugely collectable genie bottles, this glorious shape reflects the 1960s interest in eastern forms. The base and cover rims have the very distinctive Empoli rippled edging. These covered vessels are often used for candy, cotton wool, party favours etc or just displayed for their appealing shape.

Overall, this is a striking and impressive piece of art glass and would be a great addition to any collection. The item for sale is the center item in the multiple photograph.

Approximate Height : 12 / 31cm. As with all items from ARCHIVE68, this item has been carefully rescued from obscurity in the heart of Scotland, lovingly cleaned and inspected, them prepared for a new and appreciative home somewhere in the world. Overall, I can find nothing of any worth mentioning that detracts from this excellent example and I will be sad to see it go. Please ask if you require any more specific images.
