This unique thistle epergne vase set is of cut crystal clear glass and a metal twig stand. The mould blown thistle flower rose bowl vase has a fine diamond pattern at the bulbous part of the vessel, and the flared rim has a vertical fine cut rib pattern that begins just below the rim. The cut rim has a sawtooth design pattern. Each thistle leaf has a optic rib decor pattern through out and both leaves are slightly twisted with a scalloped cut edge. The dainty thistle finials are solid mould blown glass with beveled cut edges.
The gold metal stand depicts branches with thorns and is not marked. Possibly from Webb, John Walsh Walsh, or another English glasshouse from Birmingham such as Osler. The cut rim on the thistle vase is 3-3/4 diameter. The base with the gold branches is 4-3/4 diameter.Last photo shows another Thistle epergne vase that matches and is currently available in my other items. This vase in the last photo and the wooden base used for display are not included with the sale of the thistle rose bowl. Please read the item specifics and the condition report for more information.
