This exquisite aperitif cabaret set features a lovely rose pink colored glass embellished with applied rigaree and hand painted in raised gold enamel with roses and foliate. The set includes a pair of decanters, 11 cordial glasses, and a large serving tray plateau. In the pattern'François 1st', named after the first king of France. As early as 1844, the firm exhibited alongside the famous cristalleries Baccarat and Saint Louis, where the young companys exquisite colored and overlay glass was highly praised and won honors for its innovation in new techniques. A clear version is shown on page 219 of the book La Cristallerie de Clichy by Roland Dufrenne. In overall good condition with general wear. A small chip to the end of the rigaree on one or two cordials, hardly noticeable or detracting. One cordial has a tight stress hairline, it can be seen but not felt so this could be a flaw in the glass making. There are some chips to the rim of the tray and scratches to its base as shown. Decanters measure 9 7/8" tall x 2 1/2" diameter base. Cordials are 2 1/8 tall.
