Just look at this elegant beauty! It is so lovely and when the light hits it, it's stunning! This is a large gorgeous pink and opalescent English Victorian (1880's) hand-blown art glass epergne with three small and one large swirl trumpet vase held on ruffled base. An ornate brass fitting sits on top of the base, and the large center trumpet screws into the brass fitting. It measures approx 16" H x 9 1/2" W diameter.
These graceful Epergnes were used as table decor and were adorned with fresh flowers. The tray base with filled with treats, sweet meats or soft fruits. Such a lovely dinner accessory! Notes: No cracks or chips in the rims or stems! It's possible the brass tulip fitting was strengthened on the underside - not visible. Under the brass piece there is a minor edge chip in the glass - the piece is stable and usable and gorgeous. Some of the original glue is visible on the fitting. Under the glass base on the bottom, you can see gentle signs of the piece having been moved back and forth on the furniture it sat on.All signs I've noticed are minimal. This piece is in excellent condition but I'm noting anything I see for clarity. It will be packed with the utmost care.
