Etched signature on bottom "Barovier & Toso Murano". Mezzafiligrana Murano art glass (pink and clear striped vase), signed underside: "Barovier & Toso Murano". The mezzafiligrana technique used to produce this vase, produced during the 1960s, is a reinvention of a technique begun in the 16th century on the island of Muraoin.

The vase is in excellent vintage condition, no chips or damage. The Barovier family has been a premier glass maker in Venice for 700 years. At 30 he became a partner in his father's company, the Vetreria Artistica Barovier & C. After becoming its artistic director in 1926, he took over its management with his brother Nicol. Barovier became the only director in 1936, fostering the fusion between his own glass workshop and the S. During WWII the new company was renamed Barovier & Toso.
