An absolutely fabulous example of enameled crackle glass! Substantial in size, this piece exhibits a beautiful and heavy enamel decoration of various water plants with several fish swimming amongst the stems. On the backside is a smaller version of the plants with an insect flying around the blooms. I suspect this vase originated from Bohemia as this region was known to produce this type of glass during the Victorian era into the early 1900s.
The piece stands a full 12 3/8" tall with the opening measuring 4 3/4" across, base 4 5/8 diameter. A fairly heavy and well-balanced example. Over the years I have been told that pink crackle glass is much more difficult to find in the marketplace, I have only had a handful of pieces during my entire career dealing in antiques, nothing close to this size or quality. The condition is excellent with no damage or repairs noted. No staining or residue on the inside from use. A fantastic addition as a centerpiece or focal point in any decor.
