Height: 16 cm; Diameter: 10 cm; Weight: 0,640 Kg. Excavated vase in the shape of a small bottle, with the main body of a cylindrical shape, shoulder shaped like an inverted funnel and an elongated cylindrical neck with a disc-shaped mouth, in pink glass, then made with the addition of iron oxides, cobalt and copper or gold and colloidal tin. Vase worked with acid to give it the characteristic of an ancient vase found in an excavation, hence the name "vetro scavo". Dating back to the second half of the 20th century and signed under the acid base, "Cenedese". Furthermore, always under the base, there are two original cartouches from the artistic glassworks of Cenedese, which confirm the originality of the piece. Useful information for the evaluation of the object. The Gino Cenedese e Figlio glassworks was founded in 1946. Under the guidance of Gino Cenedese, sole owner since 1949, the glassworks soon established itself nationally and internationally for the high level of production. On the one hand, it continues the ancient tradition of Murano glass - with blown glass, goblets, vases, plates, and Venetian chandeliers -, on the other, it welcomes the suggestions of contemporary art, establishing intense relationships with the artistic and cultural environment of the time. It therefore participates in various editions of the Biennale, the Milan Triennale and other important international exhibitions, collaborating with various artists. In the 1950s, it avails itself of the stable contribution of personalities such as Napoleone Martinuzzi, sculptor, and, from the 1960s, Antonio Da Ros, with whom it develops new creations and techniques. Important works have also been created by the company in the field of lighting, with commissions of great international importance. Since Gino's death, his son Amelio has continued his work in close collaboration with the glassworks' craftsmen, constituting one of the largest employment complexes in Murano.
