Its production style is art glass, with a hand blown glass production technique. This vintage piece is perfect for the collectors of special paperweights. Those connoisseurs of such magnificent paperweight who appreciate the beauty of handmade items will be proud to own such a rare weight which will surely to be a delightful conversation starter.
This paperweight is rounded with a base shape with was a circle but has been intersected by the star cut rear. This when seated on the base sets the weight at an angle to allow the viewer to see the picture which is through octagonal petal facets around the window.. And shows the star cut rear though the fine bullicante (controlled bubbles) cushion the three large air trapped bubbles sit upon. Then there are north east south and west points four more tear drop air trap bubbles at the four corners of the fine bullicante cushion. The larger air traps are magnificent in the balloons with thin threads connecting them.
When the paperweight is correctly positioned like this, one can see how aptly the title name fits at light is gathered and your eye is taken towards it "INTO THE LIGHT".. It reminds me of coming up from under the turquoise blue green sea water towards the surface light. Please see other special PAPERWEIGHTS I have listed recently as shown in the last photo. The base is etched with Caithness Scotland Collectors Paperweight No. 32 INTO THE LIGHT C2004. MEASUREMENTS: Height 3 x Widest point 4"x Hexagonal base 2 5/8".
