VERY RARE Collectors Society EXCLUSIVE CAITHNESS PAPERWEIGHT "ARTISAN" H MacDONALD 2007 BULLICANTE 6.5 MAGNUM No: 110, 1.5kg. This unique paperweight from Caithness is a must-have for collectors of contemporary art glass. Handmade in Scotland in 2007, it features a beautiful "Artisan" pattern with controlled bubbles, measuring 6.5 inches in height. The backstamp is hand etched and the paperweight is an original. Made from high-quality glass, this paperweight is a stunning addition to any collection, with its green, blue and pink colours adding a touch of elegance to any room.
Its production style is art glass, with a hand blown glass production technique. This vintage piece is perfect for delicately pastel coloured air balloons rising and twisting and turning with the topmost pear shaped bubble in pink pointing upwards and joined with a thin thread which reached right to the top. It also has a tail which joins up with the rest of the three blue and four green bubbles all of which spiral and twist to join at the centre of the base.
Those connoisseurs of such magnificent paperweight who appreciate the beauty of handmade items will be proud to own such a rare weight which will surely to be a delightful conversation starter. This paperweight is rounded pyramid base shape with a rounded apex at the top.
The air trap is magnificent in the balloons with thin threads connecting them. The base is a shower of controlled bubbles weaving like a net between the balloon bubbles. MEASUREMENTS: Height 6" x Widest point 4"x base 3. CONDITION: MINT PERFECT, beautifully cut and polished base with no scratches. Helen was born and brought up in Caithness, and after training as a glass engraver, soon became one of our most prolific designers. Helen's designs are frequently abstract and very expressive.
