This is an amazing Jan Beranek optic vase designed for his Skrdlovice Glassworks in 1959. These classic iconic lobed vases are very sculptural, heavy thick glass 12 high.
Murano glass inspired; it has a sunken dusty rose sommerso cone sunk into clear white high-lead crystal. The rose color becomes more saturated towards the top. Airless balloon shaped dimples or lobes are aligned with symmetry.
These shapes act as lenses, creating a maelstrom of various circular rosy ribbons inside the vase. Truly a tour-de-force work of art glass sculpture as well as a fine large vase, designed by a very famous and popular Czech artist.
