Art Glass Bowl PINK BLUE HEART SHAPE CENTREPIECE Josef Hospodka Chribska 1960s. This stunning heart-shaped dish is a unique centrepiece that will add a touch of love to any room. Handmade by Cribska Joseph Hospodska in the late 20th century, this art glass bowl features a pulled ribbed hand blown and is made of crystal glass.

It comes in a beautiful pink, blue and clear colour palette. The dish is a vintage MCM original from the 1970s and is perfect for collectors or anyone who appreciates unique art glass. It weighs 2kg and is made in Czechia.

The production technique is hand blown glass and it is an ideal centerpiece for the coffee table or shelf or great as a gift for those who appreciate the workmanship of the masters of glass. MEASUREMENTS: Height 4 x 11 inches in length and 9.5 inches in diameter.

CONDITION: Excellent pristine condition with no chips. Few small shelf scratches on the base commensurate with age. The Chribská glassworks, full name Sklarna Chribská, was founded in 1414, in the town of Chribská, which was originally part of Bohemia, and became part of Czechoslovakia in 1919. The factory was known as the oldest glassworks in Europe, until its closure in 2007. In 1882 it was bought by the Mayer family, who ran things until World War II.

When communism arrived in the country around 1950, many factories were nationalised, and Chribská became part of the Borske Sklo National Corporation. During this period, Josef produced many organic, sculptural blown glass designs, which proved very popular, and many of his designs remained in production until the factory closed in 2007. Chribská was privatised in 1993, the new owner being Jiri Cerny, with Zdena Jobova as designer.
