This is a beautiful, hand-blown art glass sculpture of the Madonna and Child (Virgin Mary and infant Jesus), made in the highly desirable Mid-Century Italian Murano style. Subject: Religious figurine depicting the Madonna holding the Christ Child. Origin & Period: Consistent with high-quality Murano or Venetian glass production from the 1950s - 1970s. Technique: Features stunning cased glass, where the vibrant pink/mauve glass is enveloped in very heavy clear glass. The internal spiral or swirl pattern (a form of filigrana or latticino) is a hallmark of Murano craftsmanship.
