Nicholas Lutz Threaded Glass Vase Pink Stripe Ruffled Edge Boston & Sandwich

A wonderful delicate Victorian Nicholas Lutz threaded glass strawberry pink vase. A wide ruffled rim with alternating stripes of pink and clear glass. The rim has the unmistakable threaded glass texture. The bowl underneath retains the alternating pink and clear in a much more subtle form. The rim is 5.25 inches in diameter, it is 3 inches tall and the bulb of the vase is 3.25 inches in diameter.

This piece would date to the last quarter of the 19th century 1870s-80s. There is a pronounced ground pontil on the base. Louis, a renowned glassmaking factory. He later emigrated to the United States, where he worked at several prominent glass factories, including the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company and the Union Glass Company.
