He started his own glass studio in GUSUM, Sweden in 1978 and another glass studio in Germany in 1980s. Vobruba was a glass sculptor and painter and created his own glass technique, called Aleppo. How Aleppo technique was made was a secret he kept for himself.
This Bowl is not made in the Aleppo technique except the underside of the rim. All colors are covered by clear crystal glass. The purple part is made in a light swirl pattern. There are a few airbubbles inside the glass.
Looks like it has been used only as a magnificent collectors piece of art glass. Signed in base: M Vobruba 81 and the GUSUM SWEDEN label is still on. Hand made in Sweden year 1981. Diameter 20 cm or 7.87 inches. H: 5 cm or 1.97 inches.
