Rare 1960s Zelezny Brod Sklo Miloslav Janku Alexandrite Neodymium Art Glass Fish. This absolutely stunning art glass fish is a wonderful and rare example of Miloslav Janku's work for Czech glassworks Zelezny Brod Sklo.
Created in 1950s/60s Bohemia it is a gorgeous piece of Modernist design. This piece is also made with Neodymium glass (also known as Alexandrite glass), an unusual and rare material that changes colour according to different lighting conditions. It appears lilac in natural sunlight or yellow artificial light, and smoky blue in fluorescent/white light, due to the presence of Neodymium oxide (Nd²O³) in the glass. This colour changing aspect of its design along with its striking fluid lines and Modernist style, make it a beautiful addition to any collection or display.Made by the Zelezny Brod glassworks, also known as Zeleznobrodské Sklo (ZBS), designed by Miloslav Janku, unmarked. 9in in length, 3.5in width, 3in tall.
