Rare Matching Pair of Bohemian Spots & Thread Pink Iridescent Glass Vases 1920s

From the 19th century through to the Second World War the Bohemian glass companies (in what was later to become Czechoslovakia) produced some of the finest and most sought-after Art Glass in the world. This is a chance to acquire not one but a matching pair of very rare hand-blown, museum-quality threaded vases in gorgeous, iridescent, spotted pink glass dating to the early 20th century.

They were probably made by Ernst Steinwald's factory, or could possibly be a Kralik creation. The sophisticated mottled effect is produced by overlaying a white opal base with pink glass and sealing irregular stains of violet glass within. The whole body is then decorated with an irregular thread or'spider's web' decoration made of violet glass, irised. The clear pontil mark on the bases indicates they were hand blown by a master glass-maker.
