STUNNING vintage 1960 1970 Beyer & Co Germany sommerso faceted cut crystal vase
Stunning vintage modernist German glass vase from Beyer & Co. Very solid lens cut faceted crystal in deep fuchsia pink cased sommerso style in clear glass vase: no labels but see screenshot 3 verifying maker-I have more screenshots if needed.
It is designed flat across the front and rear with each side having a beautifully precise geometric column of thin, horizontal lens cut facets from top to bottom which make an arresting vivid optical effect (see photo 10). The rim is polished flat with a beautifully cut bevelled edge-fantastic quality crystal h and cut by the master craftsmen of Beyer & Co (Germany), likely dating 1960's-1970's I believe from research. See screenshot research from German sellers-anything from Germany will carry Vat/import duty now I understand so I think I have priced resonably.
Dimensions: approximately 20cm 8 inches tall by 13 cm 5 inches at widest point & very heavy at over 1.4KG. Superb display condition - some movement marks to base, some scratches to the surface (but hardly noticeable -I tried to show them in photo 11 but could not capture them against the deep pink colour of the glass) and a minute fingernail frit to the top outer rim (see final photo) which is so tiny it really does not detract at all from the striking geometric modernist display.
