Vera Walther Glass Pink Vase Signed Heiner Düsterhaus 32cm Germany Mid 20th C

This rare double neck decorative designer blown glass vase, is an extraordinary example of the glassblowers art. Two tall pink necks of glass rise from the translucent glass body, culminating in a pair of textured folded rims, the entire vase has been allowed to collapse under its own weight whilst molten, giving an incredible sensuous sculptural quality to it.

Made in Germany by Vera Walther Glass and the designer and glassblower Heiner Düsterhaus. It's fully signed on the base Heiner Düsterhaus, and there is the Walther Glass label on the body. Vera Walther Glass and Heiner Düsterhaus had a very successful collaboration producing artistic glass designs, primarily in the 1970s and 1980s. Vera Walther is recognized for producing decorative and functional art glass in Germany, often characterized by intricate detailing and vibrant colors. Heiner Düsterhaus, a notable designer and glass artist, contributed to the creative process, adding unique artistic flair to these pieces. Some of their popular works include hand-blown vases, carafes, and decorative items, often incorporating techniques like hand-painting and detailed embossing.
