EXCEPTIONAL ISLE OF WIGHT ART GLASS VASE. Presenting a stunning vintage hand crafted art glass vase designed by the legendary Michael Harris in collaboration with William Walker as a part of the Azurene range produced by Isle of Wight glass studio circa 1978. This sleek clean-lined piece, commonly referred to as a lollipop vase, features a stylishly curved flattened body leading to a slender neck creating a harmoniously balanced form which is a delight to behold.
The vessel has been masterfully hand crafted in a striking deep cranberry pink / near red coloured glass with dazzling layers of glistening silver and gold floating atop. Leaves of real gold and silver foil were worked into the surface of the glass as it was formed into shape, creating a unique and random veined surface which glistens with lavish sparkling metallic inclusions. The dazzling real gold and silver foil looks truly exquisite set against the warm, fiery coloured glass.
The magnificent design and quality of craftsmanship ensure this classic piece would make a striking feature in any well designed home and will never go out of style. SIZE: This impressive piece stands approx 150mms tall, measures 120mms in length and 35mms in width.This superb piece is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. This piece has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly. MARKS: The original black and gold foil label, although slightly worn, remains in place.
