Vintage Mid Century 1960s Murano Tri-point Sommerso Art Glass Uranium Geode Bowl. This fantastic piece of Art Glass is a fabulous Uranium glass example of the Iconic Mid Century Murano Geode Bowls. Created in Venice Italy in the 1960s & 70s, these spectacular sommerso glass bowls were inspired by the inside cross section of natural geodes when cut in half to reveal the gemstones & of course colours, within. Made by many makers including Archimedes Seguso, Flavio Poli and Cenedese, they are still highly sought today.
This particular piece is a beautiful Tri-point shaped or three sided example in a rich pink cranberry glass with clear bordered edging in daylight but that is Uranium Glass so glows bright green under UV light. This as well as its beautifully tactile fluid curves and classic shape make for an wonderful piece of vintage art glass and will make a striking addition to any collection or display. Just under 13.5cm in diameter/wide at widest point and 5.5cm tall.
Opening is 8.5cm in diameter at widest point and it is 3.5cm deep. Condition is'Used' - A tiny little pin prick, flea bite to top surface of rim and some scratching to the outer surface in a couple of places including one long particularly deep scratch and lighter wear/scratches to bottom & edges.
