Walther & Sohne Art Deco Pink Glass'Muschel' Centerpiece Bowl

A wonderful Art Deco frosted pink glass mermaid centrepiece bowl set. Made by German company Auguste Walther & Sohne in the 1930's, part of their'Muschel' pattern range, and is featured in their 1935 product catalogue.

Measures approx 9.25 inches tall by 10.5 inches in diameter at widest point when assembled. Excellent condition, much better than most other examples I've seen. The shell bowl has a few small nicks to the base edge where it slots into the mermaid base. The mermaid base itself has no damage, but the front top rim edge has signs of minor restoration, where small chips have probably been ground out.

This is very common with these sets, and is barely noticeable on this particular piece, just a slightly uneven smooth edge. Plus all this is of course not visible at all then assembled.
